Early Head Start
Early Head Start is a federal program serving families in the Houston County area. The program assists families in:
- Meeting the needs of their growing infants and toddlers.
- Meeting family goals for success and self-sufficiency.
- Identifying community resources that are available to them.
Services are provided in two settings; Centerbased childcare services at 545 West Main Street and our Homebased Early Head Start Staff visit families at their homes.
Who can participate?
- Early Head Start serves pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers up to age three
- Are you working or in school?
The Early Head Start Program provides Center or Home-Based, year-round, full day, full-week, child care in a licensed center at no cost to parents with limited income. The Center-Based program provides educational, health, social service programs, nutritious meals, and individual/group activities to infants/toddlers. Children with special needs are also served.
